Oh my gosh! It’s almost school time again? Where did our summer go? Did you know some schools are already back in session? WHAT?! Is it just me or are these summer breaks getting shorter and shorter?

I’m one of those few people who actually don’t want school to start… I know I know I’m the weird one. I see all of these funny and cute videos about these parents throwing parties and having drinks etc… when their kids go to school and I’m like that for maybe 30 mins, then I’m like “I really miss my kids” Like I said I know I’m the weird exception.

As some of you know I am a Very Frugal person and I LOVE saving money when I can. I hardly ever pay full price for anything and we use a lot of apps, some coupons, and online codes as well as unusual places to shop that maybe some of you don’t think about…

Like Ebay…Did you know you can get some HELLA cheap back to school savings on Ebay? Yea, I wouldn’t have even thought of them until one day I was browsing Ebay and came across some cute stuff, so I did my digging. Y’all know I like to do my research when it comes to the best price with the best quality. And yes, I said Y’all because I’m originally from the South and we say y’all. Sometimes I say you all because, well I married a Yankee. (LOL)

Some of these savings are from Ebay others are from different sources I’ve found to be the cheapest and best overall quality on the internet right now.

Anyhow back to the subject at hand. back to school savings, yes you DO NOT have to spend a small fortune every single year on your children’s school supplies. By doing some research (but you don’t have to because I’ve done it for you) and using savings’ app’s like the ones listed HERE in my other post, you can get away with spending as little as $20 minus the book bag and lunch box of course, but I have some savings for those as well for you.

All in all, I spent roughly $50 for all of the school supplies plus a little extra for book bags for 2 children! Yes, that was the bill for two children, not one. We are re-using our lunch bags from last year so I didn’t have to buy those this year (score). How’s that for back to school savings? If you want to browse some back to school savings I thought were cute (and cheap) I will list them at the end of this article if you want to go ahead and scroll down.

If you don’t see anything I’ve listed please feel free to click and do your own shopping and let me know what deals you came across. I would LOVE to hear how much you have saved with my tips. I love helping you save money in any way I can. As always thank you for taking the time to read my post and Happy Hunting!

  1. I can only imagine how the costs add up when going back to school. I just look at my general stationery costs for my business and I cringe! Thanks for sharing this helpful info, I may just use it for myself next time I’m stocking up.

  2. I know exactly what you mean, Felicia! I used to miss my son when school started again! It would be so eerily quiet I couldn’t wait to go pick him up again! When he left for college four years ago… broke my heart but yes, of course I knew that was the right thing for him. Sigh. During his school days we were quite frugal too – looking for second hand text books, and trying to find ways to save. Thanks for the great tips! I just feel that we blink and our kids have grown up and gone!

  3. Oh I am so going to love you in a few years LOL. My daughter is only 3 now so I still have time to think about school, but in the meantime I think you are going to set me straight when it comes to savings. So many good tips and tricks! I usually dont use e-bay, I am more of a Aliexpress girl, but it’s all mostly the same. Looking forward to reading your next post ?

    1. Karmen,
I’m so glad you found my post to be helpful especially for the future ?? they will be going to school before you know it! Time really does fly by then.

  4. Oh geez don’t even get me started on those school backpacks – you are so right, they break so quickly, I am just waiting until my son starts Grade 1 next year before I buy him a new one.
You know what I bought for my kids for school a few months ago that did cost me quite a bit – BUT it is well worth it because they have lasted? Steel cooldrink bottles. The plastic ones always break so when I saw these ones for about R130 (just under $10) each I decided to go for it and they are so hardy! If I had bought the plastic ones again I probably would have had to replace each kid’s one at least twice since then.
I love getting a good deal, thanks for sharing.

  5. Luckily I don’t need to be concerned about school savings yet haha baby is only a few months old. However I know it can get hectic 😀

    1. Leana,
Your baby will be in school before you know it. Time really does speed up once you have kids I believe lol and the older you get the faster it goes. My youngest is 2 and these past 2 years have flown by so fast I swear! It’s really crazy lol
