Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs

Equipment

  • Slow cooker aka crock pot

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs country style ribs (baby back)
  • 1/2 large yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (we use Sweet Baby Rays)
  • 1 tbsp Sea salt and Pepper add more or less to taste

Instructions

  • Discard membrane from ribs
  • Lightly salt and pepper ribs on both sides.
  • Add all ingredients to your slow cooker and mix.
  • Cook on Low for 6 hours
  • Remove meat from Cooker and top with BBQ sauce
  • (optional) Place in broiler for a few mins to get that crisp on the outside

Notes

Look for Ribs that have a good amount of fat but not too much. (you can also add mustard to give a little tang if you like that on your ribs, just rub on a little after you season)
