Zombie Guts Halloween Cinnamon Rolls

Equipment

  • Oven
  • 8X8 baking pan
  • Dough hook
  • Mixer
  • large bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 3/4 cup warm water
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • 1.5 cups red velvet box cake mix (dry)
  • 2.5 cups flour

For the Filling

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon You can always add a bit more if you really like cinnamon (we do)

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-3 tsp milk

Instructions

  • Mix Active dry yeast, brown sugar and water
    together in a mixing bowl for about 5 mins.
  • Add red velvet cake mix, red food coloring, flour, and salt
  • Mix well with dough hook, cover and let rise for an hour
  • Roll out with pin and Combine brown sugar, melted butter,
    and cinnamon and sprinkle on batter
  • Smush the brown sugar mixture into the batter with rolling pin
  • Roll up long ways and cut about every 2 inches making cinnamon rolls
  • Unroll and fold over length wise
  • Arrange in an 8X8 greased pan to look like guts
  • Cover and let rise for another 45mins
  • Bake at 350 for about 25mins
  • Whip up your glaze and drizzle over top
